Carolyn Hack is currently the President of KIPP NYC. Prior, she was an Executive Coach at the KIPP Foundation, working with Executive Directors and other senior leaders of KIPP regions on capacity building projects. From 2015-2018, Carolyn led Aspire Public Schools as the Chief Executive Officer. For nearly a decade prior, Carolyn acted as the Chief Operating & Financial Officer at Uncommon Schools. During Carolyn’s tenure, Uncommon expanded to 44 high quality schools in the Northeast and was awarded the 2013 Broad Prize for Public Charter Schools. At the very beginning of her career in education, Carolyn taught high school mathematics and coached basketball and soccer for five years in Northern California. As a teacher, she received the “Outstanding Young Teacher Award” and Yearbook dedication from Senior Class. Carolyn received her B.A. in Economics from Johns Hopkins University, her M.A. from Stanford University's School of Education, and her M.B.A from Columbia Business School. In addition, Carolyn was selected as a Broad Fellow in 2007 and a Pahara-Aspen Fellow in 2014. Carolyn is a Paris lover, proud stepmother, and steadfast yogi.
