Anjali Featherstone began her career in the classroom in Brooklyn, NY teaching 5th and 6th grade Special Education students. She went on to coach middle school teachers and ultimately transitioned into school and district operations. She worked at the NYC Department of Education as Special Assistant to Superintendent Cami Anderson in Alternative Schools District 79 and then worked for the New Jersey Department of Education on the district turnaround efforts in Camden, NJ. She moved on to found and lead the strategy team at District of Columbia Public Schools in addition to overseeing the student enrollment, school opening, and school finance teams. Most recently, she served as the Chief Operating Officer at KIPP Colorado Public Schools, overseeing the region’s data, school operations, finance, talent, and strategy functions. For the last two years, she has consulted for districts, charter schools, and nonprofits, supporting them in achieving their missions.
Her expertise lies in district and charter strategy, charter school and district operations, and deep, authentic stakeholder engagement throughout planning and implementation processes.
Anjali holds both a bachelor of arts and a master of business administration from the University of Pennsylvania. She also holds an MA in teaching from Pace University and completed the Broad Residency in Urban Education.
